Pilgrimage to Peradeniya
On the 16th July 1916, over looking the tea plantains of what was then Cylon, my grandfather was born to Lawrence Nolan-Neylan and Dorice Price. 100 years later , 24 of their direct decendants and partners met and explored what is now Sri Lanka. This photographic essay, is part of what I experienced a during what was a fantasic trip. In the picture oppoisite , my grandfather second from left with his brothers and sisters. In the two pictures below are his parents and the bungalow at Westhall where they lived and managed the tea plantation. The following photographic essay, is where one of the stories continues.
I’ve only included three pictures from Udawalawa National Park. For the full narrative follow the link to The Nose The Ears The Skin. After our visit to the National Park we headed down to Marissa Beach. Then back up to Kandy to meet up with the extended family.
